As an added incentive we offer any group of Surfers staying longer than 5 nights  ( minimum 4 persons , sharing two rooms , Maximum 8 persons in 3 or 4 rooms ) a full day excursion out to the best waves of your stay ( weather and condition dependent , but we always find good waves) at no charge. All we ask is that you share this experience with other Surfers and small groups to further promote Riversway and our fantastic tourist surfing destination along East London's coast.

Riversway weeknight dinners are a hit with travelers to East London

Many of our patrons at Riversway Guest House www.riversway.co.za say that the meals Dean our resident cook prepares are unrivaled.

Deans passion for food is clear and the thought that goes into his scrumptious meals insures that our patrons will have a new surprise each night of the week.

Its probably easy to offer meals at any Guest house , and set meals are no big deal to prepare , however reinventing favorites and improving on winner meals each tie takes a passion for food often only experienced in a good restaurant.

Often challenged by a guest , for example a long standing guest challenged Dean to improve on a traditional Trinchado Portugese steak dish he had in an authentic Portugese restaurant. Needless to say it was a conversation piece for a number of attempts , until the patron conceded that Dean had hit it spot on and now calls ahead to order trinchado   before each alternative visit .

Then there are the all time favorites of many like , Durban curry , Bunny Chows , Roasts , Steak chips and salad, Chicken Korma , group braais with homemade breads and many more favorites of our well catered for patrons , from easy going to very fussy , all are pleased after a meal at Riversway. 

So yes there are many Guest Houses that offer Dinners , but few match the passion and skill Dean shows in the kitchen at Riversway Guest House .

Exploring the feelings that may bring Guests back to stay again at a Guest House

Without soliciting any response or by way of any official survey , its often heartening to get an endorsement out of the blue  from a Guest or patron .

While recently sitting and having a chat in the bar with a few guests at Riversway Guest House , a patron made a comment along these lines.

"I do not consider any other accommodation options and I am drawn back to Riversway because I know it and have the feeling of returning Home when staying here. "

This made me wonder what Guest Houses appeal may be to patrons , and quite frankly what keeps them returning , regardless of a bewildering and fast increasing array of accommodation choices in a city Like East London.

It must logically  have something to do with the physical provision of good quality surroundings , clean rooms , good food , convenience etc. , but then many facilities offer these , and even boast grading and star ratings to try and provide some assurance to future patrons of such amenities.

Seeing many of these relationships through from start to end , often due to retirement , I am left with one conclusion .

East London had just a few Guest Houses and B&B facilities in 1997 when Yvonne West had the idea of creating Riversway Guest House in Nahoon.

Now approaching eighteen years and ten rooms , Riversway remains the accommodation choice of many travelers to East London. Some patrons , now friends have remained loyal to Riversway since inception , in fact many now retiring after many years of loyal service to their  company and Riversway. However many younger business people have discovered the hospitable environment , and we strive to be the choice of their accommodation each time they visit East London , until they retire.

2015 Outlook for East London a sporting chance at Riversway

At Riversway Guest House www.riversway.co.za we have come off a very busy season and its an opportune time to thank all our patrons for a great year of support in 2014 .

Looking to the future in 2015 we are pleased that East London and particularly our suburb Nahoon remains such a popular destination for accommodation in East London.

January sees some major sporting events as usual with the 70.3 iron Man Iron Man largest , the biggest Half Iron Man In the world in East London , when we welcome back competitors and are already full for this event,

Then we have the legendary surfers beach run Surfers Challenge 2015 East London also just a few minutes drive from us , and we have space to accommodate you from out of town for this event in 2015.

The Africa Open of Golf , now a European tour stop in kicks off at beginning of March 2015 Africa open golf tour .
