Taking care of our coast in East London

At Riversway Guest House East London our guests are just minutes drive away from arguably some of the best coastal beaches on the continent , as well as a world class Nature Reserve at Nahoon Point.

Every resident in East London and all visitors need to adopt this fantastic asset as a prime tourism driver and take care of it on a daily basis.

Stresses from plastic pollution , ailing water treatment works and human impacts in general do have a profound influence on this coastal region.

Each beach user needs to carefully consider their individual impact and also try as best possible to assist in reversing the damage caused by all human and environmental impact.

Just taking a small refuse bag along and picking up just a few items of waste at each visit will make a massive difference to the coastal area.

Observing bait collection and fishing regulations are another vital link in keeping the Estuary and Nahoon coast in good shape. Please try not lose long casts of nylon as this impacts badly on other fisherman as well as all marine life. The use of a short leader that can part may be a better way of ensuring you don't leave masses of nylon after each snag.

If we each just do a little , the entire Nahoon Beach and nature reserve will become a far more pleasant and pristine environment for all to enjoy with little impact.

Join our facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/152599078088707/ Save Nahoon  is a group of beach goers and environmentally aware citizens who realise the importance of fighting all that impacts on our well loved coastal area.

See you soon at Riversway on your next visit to East London.
